Wearable technology in general holds great promise particularly in healthcare and education, I saw the video when google launched the Glass on 2012. Expectations were high then, reading articles presenting thoughtful ideas and implementation how Google Glass can be used in classroom to enhance learning environment and another discussing google glass commercial failure made me wonder why Google Glass failed to gain the desired commercial success. Many reasons we might have read for the failure, an interesting article titled “How & Why Google Glass Failed” summarized up the failure was due to short battery life, cost, weird glass look when wearing one on the street it always felt awkward, and society not being used to the idea i.e. people feel uncomfortable when someone is wearing the glass around http://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/052115/how-why-google-glass-failed.asp
But I think google glass didn’t fail because of the technology, but because google wasn’t clear to the customers what problem it solved or why they needed it. May be that’s why google would focus their upcoming version 2.0 gadget to enterprise users and will call it the Enterprise Edition (EE), individual consumers may not be able to get their hands on the new gadget http://www.digitaltrends.com/wearables/the-next-google-glass-will-focus-on-the-enterprise/
